THE answers TO
your QUESTIONS

Making life simpler for you, here’s some extra information on all the key things you may need to know! If you still have any questions and aren’t quite ready to fill out the enquiry form, feel free to contact me at: hello@kathrynbraunton.co.uk

  • Please complete the enquiry form so that I can advise you of my availability for your wedding date.

Following your initial enquiry, subject to me being available, I will send you a booking form which will also contain your personalised quotation. If you would like to reserve your wedding date, you will need to pay a £100 booking deposit, which will be deducted from your final balance. Your booking with me is not confirmed or secured until your booking deposit has been received.

  • I travel to weddings in Bristol, Bath, Somerset, Gloucestershire, The Cotswolds, and Gwent. Weddings further afield and internationally can be covered upon request.

Travel is charged at 50 pence per mile (round trip) from BS34 8GD. Distances over 1.5 hours from my home address will require overnight accommodation prior to your wedding day.

  • Bridal makeup consultations and trials take place in my light, bright and dedicated makeup studio at my home in North Bristol/South Gloucestershire, by appointment only.

  • I always recommend a trial before your wedding so that we can meet and get to know each other, discuss ideas and your makeup likes and dislikes. It also allows us to ensure timings for the wedding day are accurate and that you feel happy and confident in the makeup look that I have created ahead of your special day!

  • Ideally once you have chosen your dress, as this plays a huge part in designing, and deciding upon, your bridal makeup and hair.

A good time for us to meet is around 6 - 12 weeks before your wedding at my home studio on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday daytimes. Weekends and Bank Holidays are reserved for weddings.

  • Cleansed, clean skin is perfect - I will prep your skin with appropriate skincare prior to makeup application to ensure harmony and longevity of the products applied. Please let me know in advance if you have any allergies or sensitivities.

It is a good idea to wear a white/cream/light coloured top with a similar neckline to your dress/bridal outfit to help envisage how you will look on your wedding day, and is also helpful for me to get the perfect match for foundation, etc. A light coloured top also reflects light onto your face and it can change the tones of any makeup that you wear, and let you clearly see how your makeup will look, without any colour or prints to detract you. A top similar to your wedding dress or outfit will also help you decide if your hair might look better styled up or down; and if you need a necklace or earrings.

  • Trials are not necessary for your bridal party, although you may like one of your bridesmaids or your Mum to have a trial too. This can be on the same date as your trial, or they are welcome to come along to your appointment for support and have a chat with me about their makeup ideas ahead of your wedding day.

I always have a mini consultation with each member of your bridal party on your wedding morning before I start their makeup. Photos of desired makeup looks are really helpful, ideally from my website gallery or Instagram page, or Pinterest.

  • Trials usually take between 1.5 and 2 hours, so please bear this in mind if you are booking other appointments to take place on the same day.

It is a great idea to schedule your hair trial (and a dress fitting, if time allows) on the same day as your makeup trial so that you can envisage how you will look on your wedding day.

  • I allow 45 minutes for each member of the bridal party, and 1 hour for bridal makeup. Sometimes, a little more time is needed depending on the look that we decide upon, but this will be advised at your trial.

I will prepare a schedule ahead of your wedding day and will arrive at your chosen pre-wedding accommodation 15 minutes before makeup is scheduled to start so that I can set-up my kit, chair and light.

I will be with you until you are ready to depart for your ceremony - for final touches, in case of any happy tears; for the placement of button-holes; helping with shoes and jewellery; securing and fluffing dresses; drying and distributing bouquets - I’m more than a makeup artist!

  • Yes, absolutely! I can accommodate up to 8 people for makeup on your wedding day, but this is dependent on the following:

    -Your ceremony time
-Where the venue has access time restrictions
-You do not want an early start (6:30am is my earliest start time)

An assistant or additional Makeup Artist may be required as a result.

  • Due to high demand, a minimum booking total of £400 (excluding travel) applies to all Friday/Saturday/Sunday/Bank Holiday wedding bookings from April to October (inclusive). Bookings that do not reach the minimum on peak dates can still be secured, but will be charged at the equivalent minimum cost.

  • My pro kit includes Charlotte Tilbury, MAC, NARS Hourglass, Laura Mercier and Bobbi Brown, plus many more!

All products have been personally selected and thoroughly tested to ensure that your makeup stays put, and lasts all day and all night!

  • Yes! Individual or strip lashes are included in all makeup applications. There is no requirement for you to have them, but I do recommend that you consider them at your trial so that you can decide either way!

All lashes are cruelty free and made from synthetic hair/fibres. I use Duo glue to apply lashes, which is vegan and cruelty-free.

  • Yes, absolutely! I hold a current Certificate of Public Liability Insurance to the value of £3,000,000 to protect both myself and my clients.

  • I work alongside many fantastic hairstylists that I can highly recommend. Please contact me for further details.

I can offer simple hairstyling such as soft waves, curls, and half-up styling for smaller wedding bookings.
